Aims and Objectives

Poplars provides residential, bespoke nursing and personal care for those whose needs cannot be met in the community. Registered providers of the care, Dr Narinder Narhlya and wife Sandeep Sonia Shehmar, take a hands-on approach in overseeing the secure and happy environment in the home, which trades under Poplars Support & Care Services Ltd.

Day to day clinical management is provided by management, who fosters an holistic approach to residents' medical, pyschological, social and spiritual wellbeing.

Central to the ethos of care is a personalisation agenda where residents, their families and other agencies are encouraged to contribute to care planning. Regular reviews are held and may become more frequent as medical conditions dictate. Autonomy is encouraged along with social engagement with staff and fellow residents. For those who are well enough, activities, hobbies and entertainment programmes are provided.

Service users and their relatives are encouraged to raise any concerns they have about staff, their care or other dissatisfactions involving the home.

Any complaints are dealt with speedily by the manager under a structured company complaints policy.

Staffing levels are in line with Care Quality Commission guidelines and appropriate, regular ongoing training of support staff and nurses is delivered through industry-approved courses.
